Default Buzzing behind driver’s side head

Hey all brand new to the forum. I tried searching but no luck. More curiosity than anything, but at low speeds and light throttle, there is a mechanical “buzz” behind my head. Goes away once under way. Car runs fine but I figured the community may have encountered it. 2014 V8s. Thanks

We’ve encountered that on the forum, but I can’t remember the resolution. Somebody is bound to fess up.

Appreciate it. Guess I’ll just keep mashing the pedal and drown it out anyway 😂

Low speeds and light throttle? That sound you hear is the “devil” (in all of us) saying go faster. Much faster!

Yes, the vacuum pump tends to be busy around 1400rpm, as the valves are opening and closing.

I heard the pump on my 15 R running on and off several times while idling in the driveway yesterday. I thought to my self “ that sounds odd” then searched it here.

1. Do I need to have this fixed as per the TSB. ?

2. Or is the pump defective, and just be replaced.

3. Is this repair covered whether or not under warranty?

They’ll only fix it free if the car is still under warranty. They won’t replace the pump but will remove it and hook the muffler valves straight to engine vacuum.

The pump does cycle on and off, that's normal.
