Default center wheel cap removal

Quick question? Do I meed to remove the wheel to get the center cap off or can it be done with the wheel on the car?
I don't want to just start prying things off?

The safest way (assuming you can handle the weight!) is take the wheel off and poke the cap out from the back. Doing it from the front risks damaging it as it's a tight fit.

I did it about 3 weeks ago, used a plastic spackling knife (covered in painters tape just in case) and they popped right off.

On my old XKR I could pull them off with a suction cup, like you get on a windshield mount. Not tried it on the F.

+1. You may need to tap it out with a hammer by inserting the rubber end of a screwdriver into the back of the cap.

if you're going to discard the wheel caps, i drill a screw into the centre of the cap, then use pliers to pull them off

much easier and quicker than jacking car up, and no risk of chipping wheel finish trying to wedge a tool underneath

works well for the front centre grille badge too

Jeez, why would you destroy a full set of OEM centre caps?
Have you seen the price of them?!?
