Default Country Specific Differences

I'm looking at importing an F-Type from the UK to Australia but first wanted to know whether there were any differences between the UK and the Australian v8 models?

Is there any optional upgrades that were only offered in one country but not the other that I should look for (good or bad)?

What model year(s) are you looking at?

Maybe best to ask NickXb787 as he has done exactly that, imported a 2015 F-Type R from UK to Australia, see here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...4/#post2479388
That said I doubt there are any differences at all.
Edit - one difference I can think of - I know that "global close" is disabled in Oz but I am fairly sure it is enabled in the UK. If not maybe Europe but not UK.
We have global open in Oz but not global close, same in the US and Canada.
Global open and global close allow you to open or close both windows from outside of the car using the fob with a prolonged press on the unlock or lock button.

@OzXFR Great find on the previous import thread. Nice to have a list of steps to follow that work. Also the "Global Open/Close" thing is the sort of thing I was looking for. Good to know there aren't any major differences. weird differences are always funny to know about though.

@u102768 I'm still in the early stages of looking, but I'm open to any model year. Just trying to collect information at the moment.

I think Nick had issues with the satnav as well in a '16 MY from memory but the satnav in these cars is pretty much useless except if you want the most scenic route to getting hopelessly lost anyway so I wouldnt let that put you off. you cant get updates for the 16MY and earlier, I think.

If you want an update for the Nav, drop a line to Cameron (Cambo), one of the moderators in Sydney. He had a connection that helped me out on the MY14. For the older models, it's much longer process than the newer models - like 2 hours vs 10 minutes. (You need a nice road trip when you know where you're going to complete the update.)

The exact difference between markets can be due to regulations, or just requirements from the marketing teams. As mention above, one example is the global close logic. I got around that as side benefit on having a Smart Top mod, but that won't help if you're in a coupe.

I believe Europe also has locking gas caps, but the US does not. (Others can keep me honest on that one.)

in the UK the cap itself isn't lockable but the flap that covers it is (locks when the doors are locked). Our fuel being so much more expensive than in the US, it's worth protecting!

About the locking gas cap...I have had more than I care to remember new cars since 2013 when I bought a new Nissan GT-R. At least in the USA, since that year every new car I've had, had the electronic door looks (standard equipment), which also lock the fuel cap door. In fact, if you get out of the car and start pumping fuel and hit your door lock button, you can not close the fuel door....that pin that locks the fuel door is blocking the cap from closing!
