Dash Camera's Questions
Yep,
Thinkware U3000 Front & Rear cam setup.
U3000 Front & Rear - THINKWARE Canada | Official Site
Has radar to detect motion close to the car to save files, vs impact detection. Wanted something that records 24/7, it's the dream car for pete's sake! However I did not want the car battery getting used in this situation for obvious reasons. So I have a battery pack installed and wired to the cam. Cam only runs off the battery pack which is re-charged only when the engine is on.

I also liked it because it's very unobtrusive.
I also contacted the manufacturer, as I still have the camera for the high beam assist in the mirror cap.
Unfortunately, it's not available with high beam assist.

I have it as wanted something that blended in. I have installed dash cams in other cars via fuse taps as well this was much quicker. It does not interfere with the high beam assist or rain sensing wipers despite what the website says.
There are some YouTube reviews of it - overall image is pretty good although reading a license plate number is difficult if even possible from what they show. My main goal for a dash cam is just to prove it wasn’t my fault.

Yeah, the integrated look is definitely a big part of the appeal here for sure. That’s why it caught my eye.
Are you running the rear camera option that it apparently has as well? If so, is that cleanly/easily installed?

I have the FitcamX in my Lexus, and it is hidden nicely. Optics are OK. I would get this for the F-Type for the stealth look if I was in the market. Fitcam didn't offer this for Jags until recently. Rear is easy to install for the coupe, a little more work for the convertible.
I have the RedTiger F7N unit on the rest of my cars and even my e-bike for recording crazies on the bike path! The state of Society today necessitates having video documentation in untoward situations.
As far as capturing license plate numbers at a distance, that might be tough even in 4K for any unit.

Could you please take a picture of the dashcam?
The manufacturer told me there aren't any with high beam assist.:-(

That’s disappointing to hear that you can’t make out license plates. That is supposed to be the point of 4K in a way…

I can’t personally comment on the license plate reading that was from a review but agree with someone else above - I’m not sure what dash cam is going to catch a license plate at night - especially in rain.
I can take one in a few days when I get home. I have a 2024 and mine looks different than the photo you have posted.
No, just the front. I think it would be difficult to run a rear in this car honestly. Also, since most rear end collisions are considered fault of the person running into you I don’t consider that as important as the front.

And the front for those that care.
As previously mentioned it's wired to a battery pack so it never draws from the car battery as I want it recording 24/7. Battery pack is wired to a fuse box and only draws power when engine is on.
