That’s the 2nd time that’s come up on this forum. Might be a good part to put into my parts bin.

Don't get a dyslexic parts man - you might end up with a British digger (backhoe)!

Before spending $$$ on a new CJB, try as I said on post #4. It saved me $1400 from the dealership. They stated mine was bad without ever disconnecting the power to allow it to reboot. I went to the dealership and performed the work while my F-Type sat in the back lot of the dealership. It worked and I drove it up to service and paid my bill then drove it home.

Thanks I appreciate this! It's under warranty and I have a case with Jaguar. I do not plan on paying for any of this repair. Thanks again!

Wow. Glad they figured out how to open the trunk without having to tear anything out.

Do you recall what year/model the other incident was?

First, Richard Shaaya...even with your Jag hooked up to two trucks and in the rain, it still looked beautiful!

Second, found this diagram that shows the CJB/BCM in the passenger foot-well as described in #4. Perhaps helpful. Curious though, can anyone share which are the 3 main connectors that you need to disconnect?

Unfortunately, after reading more than 150,000 posts on this subforum, it’s somewhat difficult to remember all the details.

Could it perhaps be this? The OP on that is "djyankees31" who also commented his experience on my post, and "Unhingd" posted on that one as well. If so, looks like a 2014 by the title, maybe djyankees31 and I can find a pattern of some sort?

Quite glad to see this forum has a good community of folks helping out. Thanks all!

Thank you very much VR46! Picked her back up today, and we had a good reunited time! As far as the connectors, if I'm not mistaken from reading the tech's notes, it appears that reconnecting may have revived the car, but not solve the issue for me.

In my case, the CJB/BCM just needed a reboot since it just another computer. However, the dealership would only quote and do a replacement. That's why I went to the dealership, got my keeps and performed the disconnects myself while F-Type was stored in a back lot. It has worked great every since. Once you know how to get to the board, it's easy enough to disconnect the 3 main connectors and reconnect.

The battery on my 2018 F-Type 400 Sport has suddenly gone totally dead after the car was in the garage for a week. It has sat for longer periods than this, so I guess it was time for the battery to go, but it is only 2 years old as is driven regularly.

My problem is the doors are unlocked but the hood release is not working and neither is the rear hatch release. How can I get to the battery to try to jump start it? Are there any emergency releases? The owners manual is locked in the glove box, which also will not open. Any ideas? I have never owner a car that is so locked down.

Thanks

Are you sure the hood release doesn't work?
Coz my understanding is that it is purely mechanical via a cable.

+1. It is purely mechanical. Might not work, though, if the cable housing clamp came loose.

Wow - the hood latches were stuck with live oak leaves that shed here this time of year- found their way into the latch catches.

Was able to jump start BLKGATO with AZULCAT. Had front tires touching in order to make cable reach! Put on battery tender and will monitor.

Thanks to all for input.
