Default Disconnected battery, locked trunk convertible

F-type SVR vert was dead. Popped hood and put on charger, nothing would work and battery appears not to be taking a charge. . (luckily car doors were not locked, it appears niether of my fob keys work in the door lock, anyone else find this?). Was recently OBDII tested for smog, so figured that was the issue. Put jump box on terminals just to get enough power to open trunk and it worked. Seems the recommondation here is to disconnect battery and charge, which I did. Went to check this morning and trunk somehow closed. I had a towel keeping it open, but I guess towel was not thick enough. Now even with jumpbox, I can't get trunk open. When connecting jumpbox, I get about 3 seconds of what seems like the doors trying to index, but then nothing. I reset about 5 times and the same thing. Had my daughter pressing the trunk button on the dash the moment I hooked up the jumpbox and it will not active the trunk. Any ideas on what to do next to get the trunk open so I can get to the battery and test/reconnect?

Sorry to hear. I don't have any other advice, except the trunk might be stuck because of the towel is wedged in the lock too. So, it might take a harder lift while trying to open.

Do you have jumper cables? Maybe jump to another car. I’m sure you’ve tried charging your jump box.

Ok, thank goodness for another thread I found here, the issue was Apparently BOTH my charger AND my jumpbox are "smart". The little SOBs, sense no battery (since it was disconnected) and turned them selves off after a couple seconds.. I used jumper cables to an actual 12 volt battery and everything lit up and I could open trunk.

I read these threads and file the away for later knowledge. That has saved me more than once. Thank you for posting the issue and the resolution.

Interesting - so the jump box won’t work with a 100% dead battery.
