Fob hardware Key to open Door does not work
I recently had battery issue and discovered neither key in my fobs work on the door. The keys look good, and look the same, but neither will turn once in the door. Any tricks that I may be missing? Is it possible the keys were wrong from the factory? I can't imagine BOTH fobs were replaced and somehow the keys were not switched.
Tried some graphite lubrication, like Lock-Ease?
ANOTHER reminder for everyone to lubricate and try the keys yearly! Thanks for reminding me....
Our used F came with two fobs but only one emergency key. They are available through a dealer, by VIN.
EDIT: Just tried ours, THANKS. Also, be aware that if the little 'handle' on the key is at 90 degrees, the key won't turn because it isn't in far enough...
Be careful of the door's paint!
And, also lubricate the other emergency keyhole near the driver's door latch mechanism.

Yep, you have to push that key in very hard to get it to go in all the way. There is an initial detente but that's not fully in, you have to push it past that spot.
