Default Electric goes nuts

Cridtmastree oh christmastree
Hi,
electrics go nuts. It first started with issues when conditions were wet:
Spoiler was stuck, had to restart car to make it retract.
Turning signals stoped working. After restart of Car they started working normal again.

Now current status is the Christmas tree, car runs and would be drivable.

Should I drive it to Dealer oder get it towed?
Any ideas where to start with error search?
Would love to check easy things first, before dealer wants to earn a fortune in "complex electric mailfunctions".

Help is highly appreciated.

Best wished
Gaucho

OBD 2 scanner and get some codes and it can sort of give you an idea of what's wrong with it.

Anyone know if the hard reset we use on the X150 works on the F type?

Hi,
It is a f type. Somehow I must have ended in the wrong forum. At least it is a Jaguar.

Start by charging the battery - the F-type is sensitive to battery voltage. Do you still have the original battery? If so, it's probably time to replace it.

After charging, you can try a hard reset - disconnect the battery for 30 seconds, and reconnect.

I had a similar issue. The infotainment display would go black and then return. It once happened after going over a bump so I checked for loose connections. I started with the battery cables themselves, since that was the only thing electrical that had been worked on. The pinch bolt on one of the terminals was tight, but when I wiggled the cable itself it was clearly loose. I loosened the pinch bolt and expanded the clamp enough that it could actually pinch, then retightened.

No more problems.

That looks like the first generation display so the car is old enough that there may be some corrosion on a ground point, especially if you're somewhere that has real winters or road salt.

Good luck. I got lucky, but these issues can sometimes take considerable time to track down.
