F-Type R75 AWD Coupe Ownership Thread
I don't know if FL is a mandatory front license plate state but a Sto N Sho plate mount is the way to go. You can keep the plate in the trunk in case you are pulled over and just say you took it off for the carwash and forgot to put it back on!
I have this cover and it fits perfectly and looks good too. (BMW 3 series is the right fit for the F-Type).

Thank you for the link to the cover. I will take a look.

Guess that I could. I will measure off-set on that front wheel. I do not want to hit the caliper with the 19" wheel if the issue is related to not enough depth to clear the face of the caliper.

I know you replaced the display with an android display/phone... not sure I want to go there right away. I like the small display solution for now. I have a small android tablet with the Torque app (that I used when I had my Chevy ZR2), so I could go that route in the future.
Also reminds me that I need to find an elegant phone mount solution as well...

I ordered a set of jag replica wheels (on eBay) as the winter wheels for my F Pace. They cost about $400 each (new), made to all the oem size, offset etc. I've used them two seasons in the harsh winter and they have been great. I would be hesitant to buy used wheels in case they have been bent or damaged. But replica new ones seem like a good deal.
I was reminded that I also want to add this: Overheating Early Warning that you (@JagCode3) did. The OBDII display you initially used is now replaced for another version. Shadow OBDII Display

Did you determine anywhere the exact data points this thing will for sure support out of the box on the f-type specifically?
I’m considering this thing as well.

Do you know what is different with the new version of this Shadow OBD2 device? Louder alarm, or anything like that? Read comments that it might not be loud enough on the original device or something.

I would use an Android phone / tablet and Torque Pro. It's not complicated at all.
The Shadow was OK and looked good but the audible alarm could not be heard over loud music.
I wanted something with a loud audible and visual alarm when the engine started overheating. I gave mine to another forum member.

But such a large setup. Maybe I should just get a smaller display/tablet/phone . I just liked the idea of a small screen on the steering wheel. Looked almost factory.
I see there is a thread with PIDs available from a forum member:

No, Torque Pro is not Android Auto compatible last time I checked. It would only appear on the phone or tablet screen. But the audible alarm is the key - it will disrupt music and a phone call to let you know the temperature has reached a critical threshold set by you. I have a visual flashing alert at 220 F and a loud alarm at 230 F.
I do not want to lose my engine to this Achilles Heel that can happen even with the new aluminum pipes - they leak too, usually right after installation because of the O rings not seated right.
@wachuko does your new F-Type have the aluminum coolant pipes?
Those PIDs from 7 years ago never worked for me and others who tried them...

Okay, so I guess Android Auto is possible, but it’s a bit hacky. Ya gotta side load something dodgy to get it working or something…
Found this app OBDFusion which supposedly natively support Android Auto. It also runs on iOS, so I would imagine it supports CarPlay as well.
Question is, can it display as many datapoints as Torque Pro…Not sure…

I’m starting to lean towards this OBDFusion I linked above. It just feels more flexible/polished. It fully works with both iOS and Android and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Also, there’s a clean easy way to access the custom pids for various vehicles, including JLR it seems. So you just pay 10 to 15 bucks in the app for some upgrade pack for your vehicle of choice and it will just automatically setup and make available all the custom stuff for ya.
Sounds like a winner to me. Kinda leaning in this direction now.
Rather detailed video on OBDFusion:

Thank you. Video worked for me. No issues with the link. Reposting just in case:

For me the yellow light on is so annoying I might put the plug back in and just hit the button on startup like I've been doing all along.
I guess my OCD is getting the better of me.
I pulled the plug the other day and yes, the stop start function was disabled. However, the yellow light on the console button still stays on all the time.

I can live with the light on the center console. Small price to pay to avoid forgetting hitting that button and deactivating the Auto Stop/Start.
Interesting. In my two-battery car (now down to 1 battery), the light on the ECO button in the center console comes on when I start the car, but turns itself off after 10-20 seconds.
