Hi everyone! Just recently bought a used 2016 F type S! LOVING IT!
My friend's 2014 s crackle and pops like crazy when downshifting, but mine DOESN'T! Dynamic mode, exhaust button on, paddle downshift at 3500 rpm and nothing happens. The car pops when I lift the throttle tho. I wonder if this is normal?

The first V6 models are the loudest and most extreme, they even pop like crazy on a cold start. All later models are more subdued but even my 2020 V6 sometimes pops on downshifts, just not always.

 

I'd be crawling under the rear of the car to see if the exhaust valves are working. Post 6 in this topic.

Or you could have the selling dealer check them.

 

This is also an issue with my 2016 F-type. The O2 patch that was released a while ago absolutely killed sound. I even had exhaust replaced and it made no difference.

 

Have you tried Dynamic + Sport....that's usually when you get the most crackles and pops

Yeah that's what I did, and I even turned Traction off. Didn't help tho

 

My '14 sV6 still pops pretty good. Only stopped once with a stuck valve because a wire came loose.
