F-Type sloppy loose handling -Why?

Exclamation F-Type sloppy loose handling -Why?

Need some help plz.... looking at a F-type 2015 v8 convertable only 7500kms... test drove but seems quite loose sloppy in its ride and handling.?
Feels like its done 75000kms in reality... is this normal with the model.?
... i have a new AM Vantage which is very tight. Is it unfair comparisons ?
Or is the Jag suspect ?

Mods - suggest move this one to the F-Type sub-forum.
Anyway, no this is not normal, the F-Type vert has a well earned reputation as one of the tighter and better handling verts because it was designed and built as a vert from the get go and not as a "chopped" sedan/coupe.
So something is wrong and my first suspect would be the tyres.
OEM fitment on all F-Type V8s has always been Pirelli P Zero and they have a terrible reputation on this forum for poor grip and handling, especially once they are a bit worn.
I would guess this car still has the original P Zeros on it and that may entirely explain the problem.
Also it's not uncommon for the F-Type to have way out of spec wheel alignment especially the front toe in, so that may be part of the problem.

The tyres would be coming on 5 years old now, might have gone hard. It wouldnt be unusual for the back to step out though.

The ride shouldnt be wallowy at all, and the steering should be very direct and quite light. The ride should be pretty firm given the seats havent softened up but not jiggly except maybe in dynamic.

No drama at all, enjoy the search! I considered going to Aston recently mainly for the noise and a manual V8 but it is hard to get out of the Jag!

The steering on the F-Type is as tight as they come. Even crappy tires shouldn’t make the steering feel loose. Might be worn ball joints in the steering linkage but more likely an alignment issue. The car probably has a toe-out rather than a toe-in.

Owners have reported 'sloppy' handling if the height-sensing parts of the suspension have come adrift.

I'd continue your search...

A lot of feeling will be subjective, however, the best idea is to test drive a new F-Type even if you don't plan to buy it. Get a feeling for how one should feel so when you browse the used market you can spot issues easier. Good luck on your hunt!

Coming over from the GM line of sports cars (CTS-V, Corvette, and Camaro) and one XKR - which floated down the road, the F-Type is the firmest most accurate point and go steering I have experienced that is why I made the move .....well and the freaking exhaust !!!

I find that rather unusual. I would make sure that the tires are not overinflated (simple), next would be front end parts (ball joints etc.).
The handling of the F-Type is rather precise and firm.
