There are some cheap deals on new SVRs. More than a handful listed for under $120k, even convertibles, although none have the forged wheel pkg.

There just isn't enough demand for these cars...

I'm considered at 2018 F type SVR vs a 2015 R8 V10

How much are people actually paying for the SVR at this point? Are there steep discounts? My biggest concern is large amounts of depreciation over the next several years.

I bought mine with $141k sticker for $132k (with forged wheel package). I got an offer from a dealer for $95k. Now remember, dealers will always make lowball, absurd offers. It's what they do. Cars with similar miles to mine are selling for $110-112k. But mine has the forged wheel package which I think is awesome ( a $10k option). I specifically wanted mine with this option.

But there are more than a few for under $120k and the sticker is definitely above $130, especially for convertibles.

If you're concerned about depreciation, buy it slightly used (there are a few out there) or just don't buy an F type. The only cars that don't depreciate much as Ferraris, Mclarens, most Porsches, GTRs, and special, limited production cars like the M4 GTS or AMG-Black series or Project 7.

If you can get 20 plus percent off msrp for a left over R why not an SVR. Even more margin I would think? The dealer I bought my R from didn't advertise their lowest number.

first look and thoughts of the 18 svr

i still can't find any decent pics/video of the interior. there's a few things i'm not liking atm, such as the faux alu painted trim around steering wheel, airvents and door trim, and the change from metal finish door handles to black - need more convincing this was a change for the better, and not just to tie it in with a base model XE

only videos jag have released of new interior are the 400R which has all that trim above done like the old R model

I'll take some of mine when I get a chance, the black door handles are actually really nice, its like a matt black satin effect, the silver on the wheel and the seat backs, its ok, can't say i'm wildly excited by it but you don't really notice it, but the seats are much nicer in my opinion, and as a very tall person I appreciate the extra few inches. you do lose the side adjustable bolsters but still keep the lumber adjust.

Ahh lack of bolster adjustment is another issue, especially when autocar mentions the new seats aren't as heavily bolstered

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/jaguar/f-type-coupe/first-drives/jaguar-f-type-svr-2017-review

I've been spoilt by seats in my m3, they are just about perfect for me in both seat back and base bolstering.

In comparison the R seats inflated are pretty close in the seat back but the base feels too flat

Well i've only put 500 miles on mine so far but one 3 hour trip due to traffic and I'd have to say they are a lot more comfortable than the ones in my V8s i'd say go to a deal and have a test drive, its all down to personal choice, no magazine can tell you if you will find them comfy or not

Decided to be weird and convert my R body fender, rocker and sills to the SVRs. I really hated the R wide side sills that loved to collect water. The conversion was a breeze, but now the car is starting to feel a little too black. These are crappy photos, didn't have time to make the car pose. It is sitting on a bump, so the rear looks higher than normal. But the next thing is putting on my VAP lowering springs.

+1 on the door handles in matte black. Not a fan at all.

Is the SVR the only model that gets the paddles with the + and - cut all the way through?

Per the Jaguar website, the solid aluminum paddles with the punched-through + and - are only standard on the SVR and the new 400 sport.

The paddles are easy enough to swap over but I guess JLR would charge a fortune for the ali ones, and they might play funny buggers like they do with other SVR parts and only sell them to you if you provide a valid SVR or 400 Sport VIN.

I have aluminum paddles but the + and - are not cut al the way through, machined about 2-3mm below the surface.

Like these a lot more.

You can buy these at any dealership. They've been around for a few years as an accessory. They cost $600.00.

I would suspect yours are only the standard plastic paddles that comes stock on some variants.
