Default Finally got an F-Type

Well after wanting one for years I finally traded in my XKR and bought a V6S convertible last week. Wow!

I was a bit worried about going from my 5.0 XKR to only a 3.0 but after 5 minutes of a test drive I knew I’d be buying it.

Jesus these things are loud! Took it for my dad too see and he said it’s stupid and too loud, and that was with the active exhaust off! God I love this car!

I did the same thing (5.0 XKR to V6 S) and I've never regretted it. I can get plenty more out of the V6 S than I could out of the XKR, I think it suits me better, and the transmission and steering are miles better. I miss the quad pipes, though.

Yours is very pretty, the dark colours look especially good with the LEDs on.

As someone who also went from a V8 car to a V6, I do miss the V8 sound a lot. I find the V6 to be incredible "raspy" at high notes and not necessarily sound too great. I'm thinking down pipes might be a solve, but those cost some decent dough.

Congrats and welcome. Sounds like your dad gave you a proper endorsement and verified you made the correct choice.

Adding quad pipes is a simple muffler and rear valence swap. Also reduces the raspiness if the V6.

Down pipes will make it much worse.

My muffler swap made the raspiness far worse than ever before. I'll have to look at some exhaust threads.

Which muffler did you swap to?

I went from V8 SLK55 to V6s, no problem. Merc was quicker in straight line but every other parameter is better.
