Default Hot Start Misfire

Hey guys,

Almost every time I do a warm/hot start (e.g. starting car after it was shut off for less than an hour) my car seems to misfire/shake. No check engine lights. For some reason getting an appointment at the dealers is nearly impossible (wtf JLR???), but should this be something to worry about?

Base V6 model, only 20k miles.

The low hanging fruit include:
1. Ensure your battery is fully charged.
2. Add a bottle of Lucas top end fuel conditioner to the next tank of gas.

BTW, we're left to guess what year your car is. You might want to add details about your car in your signature for future questions.

Sorry, it’s a 2018

Are you sure it is a misfire and not the normal overun pops that the car is programmed to do when warm ?

Yeah, this is something that just started happening and the car noticeably shakes. Fuel additive didn’t help. Battery appears fine, but coming from BMWs I know how older batteries can cause weird issues.

So what happens after it's been running a few minutes, does the problem clear up or persist? Could be a sticky injector.

It goes away after a few minutes. I’ve never experienced something like this on a car with such low miles…

Could check the plugs, though I know that's not easy, but it's going to be tough to determine which cylinder(s) is causing it. If it's a 2018, is it still under warranty? If so, demonstrate it to the dealer and let them figure it out.

Get a code reader on it, if it really is misfiring it should bring up misfire codes.
