How powerful the F-Type really is?
Well, my car is now suffering from something along the lines of what IronMike described. I won't speculate what causes it, but as of a couple of days ago, the steering feels about the same whether dynamic mode is on or off, and it sure feels like the power is down too.
Happily, I already have a service appointment scheduled for next week for an oil change. I'll let you know what they say.

On Saturday, I switched Dynamic on/off, and I couldn't tell the difference. Steering, throttle response and shifts all felt the same, like dynamic mode was off, though the flag came on and there were no error messages.
Yesterday, it worked fine (although the steering may still have been a bit soft.) Crazy. Car goes in on Wed.
I have had two other cars that adapted to the driving style - an Audi TTS and a VW Touareg (the VW had also a 8-speed ZF gearbox).
However both of them could easilly be reset in the same way:
Turn ingition on but do not start the engine. Press the accelerator full way inn and keep it there for at least 5 sec. Release the accelerator and turn off ignition - all done.
This is nothing that can be found in any manuals, but well known by owners/forums and Audi/VW workshops.
I did it many times and there is no doubt that it works.
I have no idea if a similar function exist for the F-type, and I won't pick up my car untill beginning of June, so I have no way of testing it.

I do get stuck in rush hour traffic pretty routinely and usually just leave it in dynamic mode. However, I still have the same noticeable differences between dynamic, sport, and normal modes with significantly more exhaust popping and crackling in dynamic.
I'd be very interested in hearing whether others detect any difference after trying this.
Why don't you try it before you go to the dealer since you're noticing symptoms now and see what happens?
I, along with others here, am looking forward to this thread continuing and getting some further resolution. Today was the second day in a row when I didn't put it into Dynamic mode as traffic was, yet again, unusually heavy (and for fear of "teaching" my car slow tricks).
AND I WANT TO PUT IT, KEEP IT, IN DYNAMIC (ALL THE TIME).
I think I'm just gonna have to take my chances and let the chips [pun intended] fall where they may. And if I encounter a problem, and a loss of power, take her in. Until then, I'm gonnna go for it.

I will try it, though as I say, it seems to be normal (or almost normal) right now.
Agreed. It's almost painful to drive it with dynamic off. I do that mainly on long trips when I'm on an expressway with the cruise control on.
Most of my aggressive driving is done with it in Sport so I'm not too worried about it learning bad habits. However I have stopped putting it into dynamic when driving in heavy traffic.
I just did the half-mile drag event and didn't seem to be any lower on power. It was in Sport for all of the runs, car shifted right at the redline.

I have an XF Supercharged and after reading through this thread I wondered if the modes are different on the F Type. On my car, Sport is the setting on the gearbox selector that only allows gear changes via the paddles. The car won't up shift automatically, it goes up to the rev limiter and stays there. Based on the above statement, it sounds like the F Type shifts automatically in Sport mode.
On the F-type, you can use sport mode without using the paddles/shifter, and it will shift for you. Once you use the paddles/shifter, it won't shift at the rev limiter. It will shift when you come to a stop to avoid stalling, however.
Yup, that's how I've seen it work. At the drag I left it in Sport and "D" so it shifted for me. I found that I couldn't consistently shift perfectly at the redline as fast as it could. In the canyons though I'll manually shift while in Sport.
Just called the dealer to confirm my appointment for Wed, as it seemed a bit sketchy when I made it - did it online via the dealer's website on 4/14, then got an email that there was a 'glitch', and was 5/6 OK. I emailed it was OK, though the 3 week wait was surprising (perhaps because I asked for a loaner.) Was never confirmed, so I called today.
The service adviser who emailed me is no longer with the dealer, and my appointment is for 12/25/15.
Not clear if he was f*cking with me, or it was just a screw up. I suspect the former.
So now my new appointment is in 3 weeks, 6 weeks from when I initially made the appointment. I emailed the general manager that I was annoyed; we'll see, maybe he isn't there anymore either.

Not sure exactly where you are in Boston, but try getting in touch with JgaXkr here on the forum, he is the service manager at a Jag / Land Rover dealer in/near Boston. If your dealer isn't making you happy, there are others that will.
