Default I was feeling pretty unique...

In the last seven years, I could count the number of F-Types I'd seen on one hand. For whatever reason, there's surprisingly few in car-crazy SoCal, and after getting mine in April I hadn't seen any others around. I'm a car guy, so it's not like I'm not paying attention. And then... in the last seven days I've see four... FOUR! Gone is the feeling that I had something special, gone is the feeling of something unique, the honeymoon is over.

Okay, I'm kidding, but I really have seen four in the last week, three black convertibles, one a '14 S with the V8, can't be many of those around, and the fourth was a white '15 V6 coupe. Wonder if any of them are on here.

Oh, and two drivers were wearing baseball hats, so I'll have to start doing that to be "in the club."

Backwards ball cap? Dallas Cowboys?

I'll just keep quiet and get along with my evening.

I'm in OC with my R coupe and I get a lot of questions about what it is, definitely still rare to a lot of people here. I have seen two more R coupes and an S convertible in firestone(?) orange/red the past few months. Was very surprised to see that color

I also parked up at the gym this week and had an F-Pace SVR park just opposite which was a nice treat...

Hopefully see you on the roads for a knowing wave

If you are turning your cap around to be 'cool', better grow out a "Man-Bun" and/or a mullet. If you are returning to the 90's, better go all out.

Who cares? I certainly don’t. Through thick and thin. Not a fair weather fan here.

Of course not, if they're determined to look like an idiot, who am I to stop them?

I've had my Trans Am for the past 21 years as my fun car. Several years back I got walked getting on the freeway by something I had never seen before. I saw the Jaguar, F-Type, and R badges as it easily pulled ahead and then was greeted with the nasty pops as he got off of it. That was one of maybe two F-Types that I've seen here in Idaho since we moved here from SoCal in '08. I swore that day I would own one. I had my low-mile '16 R delivered a couple months ago from Cali. Since then, I've seen two F-Types on TV (which I had never seen) and seen at least a half dozen on the street here. Maybe we're just more perceptive as owners? They are definitely rare in the US and total sleepers to the untrained eye.

I'm getting a new soft top put on my NA/6 Miata this week, so pulled off the hard top. I had some errands to do and the weather is nice, so off I went for a little top-down ride. Within ten minutes I'd seen two different Ferraris and two different Panteras (one was lime green!). It seemed like half the cars were either Mercedes or BMW, the other half Teslas. I did see a classic pickup (maybe early 40s?) when I got to the auto parts store.

No F-Types and no other 1st Generation Miatas.

In the San Diego area, you see tons of Teslas, BMWs, Lexus...s... Lexi, and Land Rover/Range Rovers. I still stick to my claim of hardly ever seeing F-Type though; they're surprisingly rare. I do see a surprising number of posts here of owners in this area, but they, like me, probably only drive their cars on weekends, making them less visible.

Since 2016 I have only seen 6 F-Types in the wild; another Firesand vert, three white coupes and two black coups. The first I ever saw was the Firesand vert and that convinced me to buy one. The only others I saw were at my local dealer when picking up oil and filters for mine.

Although I rarely see another F-type in my area [eastern LA county], about a year ago I was in a shopping complex in Upland and two other F-types pulled up to a four way stop-sign intersection. The three of us just kind of looked at each other surprised, gave an acknowledgement salute, and motored on...
