I bought her, as the third owner, in October of 2022, with about 28k miles on the clock.
She had a bit of a rough life prior to my ownership. The driver's side front bumper shows where it contacted something and was poorly touched up. It was a hard enough impact to slightly bend the bumper mount and partially break the driver's headlight mounting tab, on the headlight. I'm yet to take the bumper off to fix the mounts. The headlight housing was fiber glassed to strengthen it so that it will last until I decide to replace it. The first six months of my ownership were not that great either. It was in the shop five times in six months, for what turned out to be a bad wiring harness to the fuel pump. Since then, she's be great.
I haven't done a whole lot yet. I did manage to procure an SVR spoiler that was painted to match the car, and installed.
She needed brakes done. I put R1 Concepts slotted and drilled rotors on all four corners, with Porterfield R4-S pads. Also installed 15mm spacers.
Spark plugs have also been replaced, it prep for future tuning work. That's about it.
Otherwise, she is a working car and has been raced a couple of times.
Even with a few dings and scratches, she draws attention where ever she goes. I'll argue she holds her own with some pretty high end company.
Her stablemate is a 2023 CT4-V Blackwing.
You'll see more threads on her in the near future. She's about to spend a fair amount of time on the lift. All the rubber in the suspension system is getting replaced. Cooling system is getting updated with metal parts. Full VAP exhaust is going in, along with upper and lower pulleys and tune.
I ran the first time in April -- placed first in 105. Ran again this fall in the 110. Did not do well -- screwed up my second leg timing calculations. I'll be back again in April, probably in 110 again. Right now, BBORR fits my work/personal schedule much better that Silver State or Sand Hill.
You will, at some point not too distant future, see a thread on solving the problem of installing a 6-point harness in an F-Type. If I want to move up to the 115 class, I have to get a harness in and it has to do more than just look good as it will have to pass tech inspection. The other goal will be to keep the car as daily drivable as possible. I fully expect to have to trim/cut/fab on the internal covers over the body structure behind the seats, but my goal is to have it as unobtrusive as possible. The existence of the Project 7 harness brackets, along with pictures people have take of the cross brace, for other reasons, give me some hope that it's a solvable problem, given enough desire and effort.
We did the BBORR about 5yrs in a row in my vette. Moved on to convertibles and haven't been back to the BBORR since.
I see you're in Frisco - we ought to get a DFW F-type contingent together for a drive.
If not a drive, at least a meet up. A row of F-Types in a parking lot would be cool to see.
I'll be running in the 110MPH class again in April. Tearing apart the front of the car has taken precedence over tearing apart the inside to figure out mounting for a harness. Plus, I need to correct my losing showing from October. Math error calculating the return trip put be over 2 seconds off pace.
