Maybe overthinking this one, but if OP is not paying for the seats, why is dealer concerned. Does dealer have to install them in order to get reimbursed from JLR?

More importantly, on a warranty item this significant, they have to return the faulty parts to get reimbursement.

FYI, the OP isn’t working with a dealer, but the thread has become focused on someone else’s car. Hopefully the OP is able to get some resolution on his sourced seats.
