Default Pitfalls for buying a my16 cpo from a non Jaguar auto dealer.

What are the pitfalls and will JLR accept the existing cpo warrenty as to miles and months left. I prefer to buy from a authorized JLR dealer but want to receive some options and experiences.
Thanks
Frank

I purchased my car from an Aston Martin dealership. I have taken the car to two different JLR dealerships and they serviced the car and honored the warranty. I would say the potential pitfall is they may not go out of their way to do everything to satisfy you.

Mine is not CPO but I bought it from a BMW dealer and have had no issues getting it serviced, including things under warranty like the fuel filler issue.
I think all US 2016 models are still under the factory warranty so I don't see any risks there. The only concern I would have is to make sure that the "CPO" warranty is actually issued by JLR and not some third-party extended warranty.

I don't know about the one you are considering Frank. However on my last XJR the warranty would not convey to me, UNLESS I bought it direct from the owner. Therefore I recently checked with JLR warranty department prior to deciding to sell my F type, and now the policy remains, that my warranty including the CPO extension would convey to new owner. Have you looked in marketplace at my car info?

Thank you all for your responses. What’s the difference between a CPO with a 165 item check list or one without but with a few months and mileage left on original purchase date and a carfax with extensive history or normal service.

Welcome Frank!
Maybe I'll see you around, I've got the same color 17' R. I'm in Newburgh....
