Pre-supercharger water/methanol injection
I've had much success with pre-throttle body water/meth injection on my tuned and heavily modified turbocharged vehicles in the past. I understand that this is a controversial topic when it comes to pre-supercharger water injection, but the community is split as to benefits versus the potential for supercharger damage.
Charge cooling at higher boost levels with the overdriven TVS blowers could become an issue, well, will be an issue as the combos of lower and upper pulleys are explored. Besides a twin-screw conversion, this may be a viable option to help suppress detonation and increase air charge density.
Of course the engine internals could become a factor before this matters, but it's worth discussing IMO.
Thoughts?

Lol, that's a fair reply.
There are many older 4.0L and 4.2L V8 Jags running water/meth injection. I haven't heard of any that have gone "bang" because of it. Other reasons perhaps but no hydrolocking due to the water/meth.
Yes, with a good check valve backing up your solenoid (I only ran a check valve) and a flow sensor or other fail-safe measure, modern systems are very "safe". It is always possible to flow way too much fluid with the wrong nozzle, but that mainly results in quench, not lock. Good nozzle sizing and atomization is always the key along with tight control.
Curious if there is any other info out there on this....Pictures ...how too...setup ...cost...etc...thinking about doing something on XFSC.
What would be expected HP increase...I am sure some variables?

So, how many drums of methanol do you need to strap to your F-Type for a 2 hour romp through the twisties? I remember MeOh/H2O injecting one of my cars about 40 years ago and went through a gallon in 15 minutes. Not very useful for serious track time, but the technology has likely changed.

I certainly respect it as well, and recognize that the technology (and required driver skills) is far beyond anything I would pretend to understand.
Hey Philly, could you PM me about your blower porting? I want to get it done as well. Also, are you injecting water/meth at the Y pipe just pre-throttle body?
The new tech is great and it lasts quite a bit longer than you all may think. I mean if I MUST (you know for research) - I'll schedule a day at the road course and report back to you guys
Granted my road course skills are FAR behind you guys.
cbroth - you got it.

Hey philly,
Ok thanks, sounds good. What did you get with meth and your other mods?
Where did you spray? I'm assuming the y-pipe right before the throttle body?
Also where did you tap in for boost reference?

Oh man...I picked up a pretty good bit and (of course) great IAT's. I really need to do a with and without meth dyno. But...the car picked up 55rwhp on a Mustang dyno and car went 11.02 vs. 11.44. The low end toque is bananas. But as posted, the car also had a ported blower and such.
Correct, sprayed at the y-pipe. I'm not sure where the guys tapped for boost reference, I could make some guesses - but would rather not guess. I'll check.

Doubt you will get an answer here. Last post is from ~6+ years ago, and I do not think the member is on here any longer. He moved on...
