questions
Hi everyone,
I have a couple of questions and hope someone can help
1) My f type has to stay outside at night so I am using a car cover
A) Is using a car cover better than not using one?
B) Is is ok to put a car cover on that is still wet from the night before?
C) I purchased the cover from Jaguar. Is that the one that you all rec?
2) Does anyone have rec's on best cleaning products for the car?
Thanks very much!
Nick

I wouldn’t use a car cover if left outdoors - unless leaving it covered for an extended period of no use.
You will be dragging dirt and grit across the paintwork every time you put on / remove the cover.

+1. Don’t worry about the nighttime. Just keep it out of the sun.
Not fond of covers personally, certainly avoid parking under trees because bird dung can eat away paint.
I've been happy with the Car Guys product line, but I have the time to apply the products and keep my car in the garage.

Just make sure you have the pano roof panel closed (if you have a coupe with the pano roof), fit a decent windscreen sunshade (not one of the $5 cheapies), and crack the windows by about 1 cm.
Also, when you return to the car, closely inspect it for bird poop or resin/gum deposits and remove them asap.
My car lives outside all the time.
- No cover. As noted above, you're sliding it across a dirty car every day, and if it gets windy, it can shift back and forth with any dust that's trapped on the paint.
- Close the cover for the panoramic roof. It gets hot enough inside even with it closed
- Windshield shade. Just like for my previous several cars, I have one from these folks and highly recommend it: https://www.heatshieldstore.com/

It's not the season to contend with that yet where I'm at, but I've been thinking about keeping some quick detailer and a microfiber cloth in the car for exactly these instances... any recommended products?
In Oregon in winter probably best not to crack the windows!
Yes, I use quick detailer and a MF cloth to remove bird poop, resin etc, and pretty much any quick detailer will do the job (I use Dodo Juice Detailing Spray Concentrate), but the secret is to use plenty of spray to dissolve the deposit(s), wipe gently and do not rub hard otherwise you risk scratching the clear coat.
