Hi Guys,
I would like to remove the air vent / grill next to the steering wheel to replace it.
THe trim / frame is scratched.
I started to pull on it and the bottom part comes off but i am scared to pull further.
Anyone can help me explain how to do?
I got a V8s 2014
here is a picture
If I remember correctly, on the left there is a screw under the cover. Then they just pull out. They snap into place, with tabs. I have replaced mine. If you need a picture of one removed, send me a pm and I'll send you photos of the ones I have out of the car.
I’ve replaced both of mine, There is more to it than that. You will need to pop off the side cover to the dash and then remove the screws that hold the under panel off. That will expose the screws that have to be removed to replace the entire vent. The vent does just push in with the side clips but it comes as one full unit. You can’t get the parts of it separately. DJS has posted the manual which has a page that shows the procedure. I also have a description of replacing the passenger side vent in another thread on replacing “sticky parts”. If I find the links I’ll add them but if you do a search for the manual DJS posted you can see the descriptions. A search should help you.
Per my PM to you. Here are the instructions First remove the side cover Then remove the bottom. There are two side screws and two bottom ones Then remove the actual vent screws and remove
