I'm new here and was hoping to get some opinions on parts sourcing and some potential mods that were done to my recent purchase.
I bought a salvaged 2016 JAG F type R AWD from copart and am planning to rebuild it. First, if there is anyone who has parts for the damage in the picture below i would be grateful to purchasing them if it makes sense.
Looking for:
Hood, bumper (parking sensor black trim), headlights(black trim), bumper bar, end of frame rails. New purchase
Second,
I found this connector near the battery in the trunk and It might be after market. Anyone have a clue what it could be for? Random Wire in trunk near battery
Third, I was looking behind the supercharger in the engine bay and noticed a tube that was cut and seems concerning. If someone could snap a picture of what their tube goes to that would be a huge help!
Tube that looks cut behind the super charger
I'm not trilled about some of the mods I'm seeing. It does have a after market exhaust which is very loud. I can get more info on that if it's helpful. Also there's codes that come and go but i'll deal with that after the damage is fixed.
looking forward to being an f type R owner once it's back on the load 😅
First good news: The wire in the trunk is used during shipment only and is never used again.
Second good news: The cut hose is part of the symposer system. Do some searching here and you'll learn more. In short, it takes sound from the intake manifold, conditions it, and pipes it into the cabin through that hose under certain conditions. If the rest is removed or disabled properly there's nothing to worry about. With an aftermarket muffler you wouldn't hear it anyway.
That's not the original grille for a 2016. If it's a true Project 7 grille and has damage to it or the surround, parts will be bordering on impossible, but there are substitutes. Search here for P7 grille and you'll learn more on that too.
Good luck!

@dblosh it looks like you've got a great project to resurrect another f type to roadworthiness! I'm planning to replace the stock OEM front grill on my 2016 F-Type, which has parking sensors, with an aftermarket p7 style grill. My timeline isn't until later this Fall after the good weather here in the Pacific northwest turns wet. Feel free to DM me if you're interested.

Hey Danny,
Did you fix your R, and how much have you enjoyed it?
Do you think it is a good deal to buy one like yours (pretty much the same damage) for $15K?
Is this a good car?
No I'm still sourcing parts and trying to figure out if It's possible to fix the slightly bent frame rails since they're aluminum. I hear bad things about aluminum and how it's hard to work with.
Aluminum doesn't have memory, that is the problem, and it weakens with work or welding. depending on where the frame has bent have you looked at replacing the front clip in it's entirety? going from memory, but Engine bolts to frame with 4 bolts and makes up the bulk of the front clip. If the steering and control arms are what are damaged those are simple bolt on replacements. need pictures of frame damage to suggest anything further.
