Service Required Message

does this work on the F-type?
From my jagwrangler one touch convertible instructions that I just finished installing minutes ago:
'Service Required' Message appears on dashboard (2009+ models in the UK, 2010+ models
elsewhere):
-This service reminder message sometimes appears as a result of the battery disconnect. Reset
it as follows:
1. Press and hold the rear fog lamp switch (before the ignition is on).
2. Press the start button without applying the foot brake (do not start the engine)
3. Release the rear fog lamp switch (1sec)
4. Press and hold the trip computer cycle switch (within 1sec).
5. Press and hold the rear fog lamp switch. (within 1sec)
6. Continue to hold the trip computer and rear fog lamp switches.
7. The message center should display "resetting service mode" and then "service mode reset"
8. Release the trip computer and the fog lamp switches and turn the ignition off.

The above worked for XKRs but I don't think it works for F-Types. The method (supposedly worked on a 2015) I've seen is:
Turn on the ignition
Open the bonnet
Press the brake pedal and accelerator fully for 10 seconds
Turn off the ignition
Close the bonnet
Turn on the ignition
Service indicator should be reset

Thanks for the posts - I've had interesting results. I've got a 2016 F type R. I'm at my annual clock (and then a little?) so I have recently seen the service required message appear (not sure of the exact text in the message). I don't believe the message appears every time I start the car so I don't yet understand the pattern of when it may appear or when not. For example, today when I first initiated the procedure and turned the ignition ON (no engine start) there was no service required message.
After finishing step 3, the first anomaly I noted was the fact that with the hood open and the door open I never see any 'service resetting message on the cluster' - I instead get the nagging messages about those to factoids. Depressing OK to clear them did not enable the stated note above to appear. I ran the procedure twice and not sure if it did or did not work.
I then found another procedure on another forum that was the same except you're not required to open the left door - all other steps the same.
Any input here? I've not yet driven the car - will I be pleasantly surprised?
thanks

There are several "service required" threads but I'll post my question/issue here - (and tonight I will check my service records) - Does the presence of the "nuisance" (or calendar reminder) version of the SR message prevent the remote start/Climate function from working? I've never had an issue before but today the app would not start the car saying only "service required". Of course, there is no indication of any kind if it is indeed something serious. If I'm just overdue for an oil change, that doesn't seem like enough reason NOT to start remotely. If it is something serious, I have no indications inside the car or in the app other than "service required". Car starts manually just fine and drives perfectly - 60 miles so far today. Does anyone know?
And yes, I found the SR reset procedure which I may or may not do after checking my records and reading any replies here. Many thanks in advance for your insights.

The remote start is only available for 4 days after using the car, after that it goes into a deep sleep and is uncontactable until the next restart. You can set a wakeup time (within 48 hours of using the car) via the app if you're going to be leaving the vehicle for an extended period. But that message shouldn't affect the usual behaviour of the car.

Update on my own question above - I only had about ~4,100 miles since my last oil change, so the reminder was definitely a calendar thing. And yes, I had driven the car recently, so the 4-day time out was not a factor. Anyway, I did the "reset SR message" procedure, confident that there was not some other service needed, and sure enough, the remote start/climate function started working again. So, I am fairly certain that yes, a simple oil/calendar SR message will prevent remote start from working in the app. Silly precaution to have in there, but easy to remedy.
