Default Steering wheel won’t unlock

Hi folks, I currently have a 2017 Jaguar F-Type, I had a front end accident a week ago, now car steering wheel won’t move for anything, it starts, but looks like steering wheel stayed locked, is there anything that could of possibly broke in the front or would a sensor cause this failure, it only have 21K miles on it, it is a 3.0L supercharged, base model, rwd, please any help would be appreciate it, thanks in advance!.

How serious was the front end damage. Perhaps something is interfering with the steering linkage. I don’t have a steering lock on my F-Type.

I reckon you have one Lance, AFAIK all F-Types have one.
Easy to test - switch the car off, put it in neutral, then turn the steering wheel.
I bet if you try this it will lock after about 1/8 of a turn and you won't be able to unlock it unless or until you start the car.

Could the locked steering wheel be cause by an ABS sensor , speed sensor malfunction?

Nope. With car unlocked and fob nowhere near, I can turn full both ways with no locking. Never locked from day one. Thought that was the way it was designed.

Hmm, definitely doesn't work that way on mine.
I can't turn the wheel with the front tyres on the ground under full weight as the tyre grip is too much.
But if I raise the front tyres off the ground I need to turn the ignition on to fully turn the wheels either way otherwise the steering locks after about 1/8 of a turn.
I know this for sure coz many a time I have raised the front to remove the under tray, went to turn the wheel to access the two screws in the front of the wheel well without having first turned the ignition on and bingo, locked steering wheel!
Maybe it's a manual vs auto thing?

I don't know if steering lock went away with the "insert key here" stuff - will have to check mine.

No clue. I’ll see if I can find anything in the documentation. With some grunt, I can turn the steering wheel when the car is on a smooth concrete floor without having to take weight off the front wheels.

So I checked my steering linkage and looks like is free, nothing on the way, I was for a few things, that maybe the key fob needs to be reprogram with the car even tho it starts, or that the computer might need to be reset since it was in an accident?, please help, any help is much appreciated it, the jag is just sitting in garage.... 😭

On most cars, when this happens, there is something damaged in the ignition/key reading system. Does this happen with both keys?
