Default Switching stock seats for performance seats (2017 base coupe)

If I was able to get my hands on performance seats for the F-Type, would it be a relatively simple switch from the stock leather Black with suedecloth?

If so, where would be the best place to find a set? Or do people ever trade?

Im not sure if they are the same or if there is any interest but I just purchased a red on red 2014 F Type and I’m interested in swapping in black seats.

interested if you find a source or if anyone would be interested in a trade.

It's not so simple....

Much of the body electrics changed in 2018MY, so if you try to put 2018-onward seats in an earlier car, all of the wiring and control modules are different, and you will need to adapt the wiring of the 2018 seats to the original seat modules of the car (has been done before btw)

You also have to look at the seat movement functions, and if heated or not heated.

The two types of seat (sport or performance) incorporate either 6-way or 14-way adjustment and may also incorporate seat heating (option or market dependent).

Seats with 6-way adjustment have manual forward/rearward adjustment, and electric adjustment for:
Seat height
Backrest recline.

Seats with 14-way adjustment have all electric adjustment for:
Seat forward/rearward
Seat height
Backrest recline
Cushion tilt
4-way lumbar
Side bolsters.

Seat adjustment is controlled by a seat switchpack and a seat module for each seat. Seats with 14-way adjustment have a position memory feature incorporated into their control system.

So if you have the 6-way seats, and you want to put in 14-way seats, then the switch packs on the doors need changing, and some programming is needed too, which the dealer cannot do for you.

Not impossible but not a simple job either.
