Default Tow hook

My tow hook for my 2024 is just sorta laying in there next to the battery. Is that normal? I’ve seen references to some holder, but I don’t recall seeing anything like that in there.

There should be a cutout for it on the top of the black styrofoam (right side) that actually surrounds the battery.

The part number for the tow hook holder on my 2018 coupe is T2R13381. The holder is a Styrofoam block that fits next to the battery and holds the tow hook there. I am not sure if it is the same for a 2024

You don’t mean right side of the trunk area, right? You are saying left side of trunk but to the right of the battery or something? I’ll have to try and take a closer look, but my memory is that mine is just sorta thrown in there loose sitting next to the battery somewhere towards the left side of the trunk area. Doesn’t seem problematic necessarily, but it struck me a bit weird when I first saw it.

Yes, left side of trunk but right side of battery.

"You are saying left side of trunk but to the right of the battery or something?"

That is correct and the insert for the tow hook is "hollowed" out into the black styrofoam.

There is a picture of the tow hook in the holder in the post below. This is how it looks in my 2018.

Hmm, yeah, I don’t recall seeing anything like that. I ripped that whole area out recently when installing an exhaust valve controller, but I’ll have to take another sanity look when I get a chance.

Perhaps my dealer is a ding dong and thought it was packing stuff that you throw away…lol. Wouldn’t surprise me.

Sounds like you are missing the black styrofoam “saddle” that the towing eye sits in. It’s parked next to the battery.
