I need some assistance please. i have just bought f-type 2016 MY (3.0 340HP). I do not have neither hdmi slot nor sim card slot under armrest. I was told I have 2.1 gen infotainment system. I am not sure if its reliable information. I do not know if its Harmon or Bosch as its not mounted under armrest. i quess its mounted behind the touchscreen and I will not check it myself (too complicated for me). I would like to update my infotainment system. my vin is SAJWA6AT4H8K35633. Can I change the touchscreen from 8” with buttons on both sides to 10” without buttons? If not, what software should I use to get update of infotainment system as well as to get smartphone pack? Will only third party software work for me or can I get original Jaguar software update? Please advise. I have already read all threads regarding this subject but Iunfortunately am still confused what is possible and what is impossible to upgarde the system of my car. Sorry for being stupid on this subject, not my area of expertise

You can get a 10" upgrade but I would not (too many posts of issues with it). I would suggest you get the Unique Auto Developments 8" upgrade. You will need to determine if you have Harmon or Bosch system to get the correct one.

If your car is a coupé, pull away the piece between the seats. You should be able to see the head unit. If it says Harmon then the UAD unit is straightforward to fit since it connects to the head unit.

 

The Bosch UAD unit is easy to fit too, he just need to get the right one for his car.

 

Thanks. I have already pulled away the piece between seats. I am not sure if its head unit but it does not say Harmon. It does not say Boch either. So no jaguar updates for my car are accessible, right? Only UAD piece is viable option?
