Default Valet Broke the top! top stuck up!

Did something I hate doing but had no choice, valet my car, had top down, specifically told them to park car in front not to touch roof leave it down, came back it was up, started car got roof not latched warning, assumed they just didn't finish the process, go to put it up and nothing, drive the car home, short drive, beeping at me, get home manually fully latch it with the key, try again windows go down and hear and unlatching noise but nothing top is stuck up... guess my convertible became a coupe tonight. any idea's? really don't want to take to my useless dealer

Try disconnecting the battery for a minute. Might accomplish nothing, but worth a try.

Hmmm, the few people who had roofs stuck closed did not end well. There’s an older thread about that, hope yours is something simple.

I don't see how valet could break the top, unless you were an absolute *** to him and he took a hammer or pliers to it.

I believe that the car was driven over 30 with the top not all the way up in the unlatched position, the weird part is my Dashcam malfunctioned, normally I have two, so far I only have one in the car, So I can't see if it was driven or if maybe the camera was unplugged because its not hard wired yet, and if being an *** is giving a 10 dollar tip before he even parks it, then an *** I am LOL, I got it the top down by removing the locking piece with the manual key, and Now I can close it kinda, it wont latch but enough to park it, but have to drive it top down. I can latch it with the key as well, but thats a pain, gonna take to the dealer when I get a chance, drive with the top down most of the time anyway.

Check your trips on the app, unless you disabled that because you're in the tinfoil hat crowd.

The app makes it convenient but you can enable journey tracking via the website. I agree things are getting over-complicated, have you taken a look at any i-Pace forum?

oh lord Im scared to even go there, my moms Tesla gives me a headache, plus the constant fear of it catching on fire after already loosing two close friends from a Tesla accident.

I wouldn't disconnect the battery as I recall this will lead to other issues with the car. I highly recommend just taking it to the dealership and letting them deal with it. I wouldn't mention the valet part either. I had issues with mine and it took two months, multiple module replacements and rewiring of the electrical harness to get it back to normal.

The switch in the top latch does occasionally fail giving a top not latched massage when it is latched. I would say coincidence. Those tops are pretty robust compare to earlier modules. And give all info if you take it to the useless dealers as that would be like going to the Dr for a bad head ache and not telling them you played football and landed on your head when tackled, may have nothing to do with it but all info is like a gun. Better to have and not need than to not have it and need it

Disconnecting the battery will only affect the window auto-up feature (easily reprogrammed) and will reset the instrument cluster back to the default settings (also easily reprogrammed).
