Default Widest tires possible on an R?

Im months away from taking delivery of my 2020 R and have a feeling moving from my S I may need to replace the rear tires (my S has it’s originals btw) as I may be hard on it until I mature somewhat. I like the look of the SVR 305 vs the 295’s on the R. The rims will be the 5 spoke carbon fibre....will the 305’s fit? There will be no other modifications.

If you mean the 10.5 oem wheels with the carbon fiber trim. Yes, they will fit. I am running 305's on 10.5 oem gyrodynes, as are others.

Are you worried about wheelspin or the rear end sliding out on you?

Neither as I enjoy doing both....at least until the AWD kicks in. I just like the look of the wider rubber.

I just put 305/30R20 PS4S on my stock 10.5" rear wheels and they fit perfect. I, like you, enjoy the wider look.

Same with me; I have the 305's .. Michelins... great upgrade to the stock.

I purchased the 305/30/r20s for the rear but went with Nitto NT555 G2's, rub like crazy. I am lowered on Mina gallery springs so the drop is about 1" and I have 15mm spacers. Met up with a gentlemen who had the exact same setup with the Michelins and has no rubbing at all. Most likely the tire shape of the 555 G2s are different and causing it to rub. It is very minor and only over bumps, but it was surprising. I rub both the front and the rears (the fronts are OEM size NT 555 G2s)

I had rubbing on the rear (15mm adapters) even with the 305 MPS4s. 12mm additional offset (new wheels) works fine.

I'm on aftermarket wheels 20x9 front with a 40mm offset and 20x10.5 rear with a 25mm offset. 255/35 front and 305/30 rear nitto nt555 all around with no rubbing at all. And I'm also lowered on h&r sports

wouldn't mind seeing some pics of the spacer/offset combo with the 305s. I didnt have plans to upgrade my wheels until TxDOT made that decision for me this week. now that i have to buy 3 new ones, might as well consider options.

possibly. it seems okay on alignment but I'll have it checked. none of the wheels are destroyed, it's still drivable. it just has a mild vibration at speed that caused me to take it in... on the balancer, 2 of the wheels have an obvious bend and 1 has a slight one. none of them will balance perfectly. unplanned, but not a problem - I'd rather be excited about the potential upgrade than depressed about the damaged wheels
