Default AC running Hot

Hi all
my air conditioning is only blowing HOT air even when its set to low!
the temp gauge is set at a static 53 degrees and will not budge.
recently i notice cool air is sometimes coming out of ONE of the centre vents but the others are hot. This happens if i set it to just the dash blower .....but then i get it hot in the driver seat well vent!!

any ideas would be helpful
it dosent seem.like just a re gassing issue

the engine seems hotter than usual too
Mark

Welcome to the forum UKMarco,

As you didn't add the Model or Year information, I've looked at your registration details and see this could be a 2003 S-Type? Given that Jaguars lose 5-10% refrigerant charge per year, unless the AC has been regularly maintained then low gas is the most likely cause. Prepare yourself for a shock if you haven't had an AC recharge recently - the cost of R134a has rocketed in the last year.

If it's an S-Type then the proper sub-forum has lots about this kind of fault!

See DCCV.
