Default Battery tender install

A couple members wanted to see my Battery Tender install and had some questions. Had some time today so I uninstalled my battery tender and took a couple pics of the re install. Its is super easy and worth the $70 investment if you do not drive your car often. The battery tender comes with 2 attachments, one just clips on to the positive and negative terminals like jumper cables and the other bolts on to the battery and that is the way I installed mine.

My car is a 2010 XF Premium so other car may have a different battery location but the same steps apply.

I think the pics are self explanatory but if there are any additional questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them.

So that's a 'tender'. I've seen the word used several times on the forum and was expecting something like the remote tender we use for starting trucks!

Your setup is very like my CTEK XS7000:

Normally the battery cover is in place and only the connector is visible but I've removed these to take the photo. The black and orange item bottom centre is the quick connector which is permanently wired to the battery.

Thanks for the pics TC.
I think I used to have an optimate on my bike in the UK.
(maybe I still do)
I may have to think about one for the XK8 as it's sitting around a lot right now.

I bought a CTEK MXS 5.0 for the XJR since it sits around most of the time.

Exactly like Grahams pic, there is a quick connector which is hardwired to the battery.

It also came with a pair of alligator clips, so you can also use it on other cars.

In the UK both LIDL and AlLDI often have these type of chargers on sale at very low prices.
I have one fro ALDI - an Auto -XS but it has " battery clamps " (the normal croc clips)
By coincidence, on ALDIs web site, from 04 Oct they should be available for £13.99.

I am new to the forum so Mods please advise me that the above info is OK and not Spam.

Welcome to the forum henry k,

Unless you're in the Aldi marketing department, it's not spam but good relevant info.
