I noticed a bunch of quirks while trying to post on the forum. For example, quotation marks often show up multiple times, hyphens are totally omitted, and in my most recent post I was mentioning about my credit u n i o n but the word "u n i o n" would not show up, even after trying to edit the post (I am only able to force it here by adding spaces).

What is the reason for these odd quirks?

I think it's all related to the software .

 

I would have guessed that there was something in the posting software that scans for naughty words. But since when is u n i o n a naughty word?

Just to chime in, I get multiple quotation marks as well. Posting in Firefox 3.0.3 on Mac OS 10.4. I'll try Safari later.

 

It's not your browser, it's a source code defect for this site.

 

Didn't figure it was, but I thought just in case FF was reading something wrong that had been designed strictly for IE. I know every now and then there are some strange things that happen that you wouldn't expect.

Out of curiosity, what software is this? phpBB is free and I think the interface is much nicer, it's probably not such a bad thing to look into. I've been told the back end of phpBB is a pain, but I'd be surprised if it were much harder to mange than this. Not to be rude but I think this forum's interface leaves a lot to be desired, and the ads are a bit too ridiculous.

Still seems like a great place, but this forums software is kinda painful. Lol.
