1960 MK2 not a restoration, not a rusto rod, just a Bonus Trap
Doug gets the engineering grand prize.
In I few short hours I have learned much about this car's design. Knew I liked it, but beginning to appreciate the details.
The engine is offset. Easier to see in the last picture with the tape. Offset bubble would work, but not as cool as a Vantage V8. The tape takes the line from the vent and is as close to the right as possible with a metal scoop. I need to nip the air cleaner stud, even if it only three threads. Follow the fender, who knew, not me, great advice. 420 keeper smaller, got to get one. The front line is 18" wide.
I'll have to go back and look at the side view picture to see where the air filter high point is in relation to fender high point.
Cowl induction trough provoker is arriving soon, it may be pretty much dead after this exercise.
Thank all for the participation in this engineering exercise. Might have to go to pull a part to scarf up a VW hood.

Congratulations Doug. I'm pleased you made it longer following the fender line. That will look good. ~ I like. 420 leaper will look good. You could still try the 7 inch leaper & see which you prefer. You missed your vocation!

Nah! This is going to be a beautiful bonnet/hood straight off as long as Clyde is in control overseeing the job. As you have said before I would do it in Aluminium unless modding an existing bonnet. Likely the one in the pics.
