I like it better then the Jag grill, it adds more chrome and looks more finished.
Are you going to do the whole thing _ hub caps, horn button etc... ?

hi JeffR1,

no, just the grille.

the Daimler grille is 1/4" inch narrower than the S type grille at the widest point,

and the rear of the Daimler grille does not match the curvature of the S type's "nose" exactly, the S type is about 1/4" inch "flatter".

Also the top of the grille is less than 1/8" inch from the hood / bonnet, very very close, it opens and closes fine, but it is very close.

Well, even if it doesn't quite fit, I still have a soft spot for Daimler's shell.
Check out this "over-the-top" glitzy body.

That looks like one of the 'Docker' Daimlers.

Yes, the other one in the WiKi was white with gold trim _ very ostentatious.
Plus I don't like the way Hooper cut the fenders off where the head lights are mounted _ it looks like they were trying to do something experimental and it didn't work out.
I always liked the Princess style fenders where they ran right through from front to back, but I prefer the head lamps mounted in between the grill and the outer fender.

Hello,

That Daimler grill can get you some cooling issues, as it doe not give you much air this way.
Personal I like the original grill more, and it belongs to this car.

hi Peter,

yes I noticed the Daimler grille has many more Vanes and less air space than the S type grille, but it sure looks good !
