Default S Type External rear vision mirrors

My S Type does not have external mirrors and I can't see any specifically for the S Type in Barratt's catalog.
What sort do people have on their cars please?
.
Hey Admin, I have tried to edit the title to correct spelling of "external" but system will not let me.

My car came with fender mirrors so I kept them to keep it stock looking but I did add a rear view license plate camera for backing up, etc.

I have a set of perfect replica Lucas wing mirrors that I have yet to mount. Even stamped Lucas ~ Made In England.

I find the most useful mirror on these cars is a quarterlight frame mounting clamp-on mirror on the Driver's door. No drilling required.

Thanks Primaz and Glen. I like the idea of no drilling. Where did you source the quarter light mirrors from please Glen?

Cheers

SNG Barratts: They get them from their supplier very quickly. Oblong version also available. There are cheaper clamp-ons available but their quality is not in the same league or their attachment hardware.

Hi Glen. Does the quarterlite window prevent the quarter window from opening fully?
does it mark the chrome edging on the door?

It takes a bit to get used to the small fender mirrors but after a while you get used to it. For me what really helps is the modern rear view mirror I installed as that provides a good color camera that enables me to see out of the back easily. The camera is built in to the chrome license plate frame, not stock but since I drive it daily it greatly helps. It gives me good normal mirror image on the left portion of the rear view mirror and a camera view on the right side that provides even better viewing.

Plastic/rubber gaskets protect the door frame chrome work & the quarterlight operates normally.

Sorry ~ I've searched the internet for a pic. Here is the best I can do. Similar (cheaper) clip/clamp on mirror fitted to an old Mk1.

Without the door mirror (you could fit 2 ~ LHS & RHS) & the standard Jaguar Lucas interior mirror I feel blind as to what is going on behind me being accustomed to modern car door mirrors.

You're welcome. I would wait until you drive the car a bit to see if you really want to add those extra mirrors. To me the car looks cleaner without them. FYI, the rear-view camera systems provide a wide angle lens so you get better visibility than the stock rearview mirror..
