any one know of good information and instruction to rebuild a irs on s type thanks

 

there's a thread here showing fabulous rebuild work done by a guy in Germany.

 

One tip I have is consider how you will get it down from where you build it, I did one for a 1966 S-Type 3.8, stripped it on the floor then reconditioned/replaced and cleaned and painted it on my workbench and of course when it was finished I couldn't lift it and couldn't get the engine hoist near enough to it to either.

I ended up getting my brother to help and between us we just about picked it up and put it on a trolley on the floor!

 

I can't believe you did that ! I of course didn't rebuild an engine in a nice warm small workshop and then couldn't get the engine stand out the door, because that would be daft !

 

haha! it's like building a brick wall around you and then you can't get out.
