Default 1994 xj12 crossed battery cables

I recently obtained a 1994 XJ12 in exquisite condition showing only 86K miles.
The only problem was a tired battery. Car ran great with everything working properly. When battery was replaced the tech connected it backward (only momentarily). Though the windows, sunroof etc. still work, the dash doesn't light up and the starter does not engage, nothing. Just dead. I"ve replaced the SECURITY ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE as advised by the local foreign car specialist and got the same result. Any help will be appreciated as the local Jag dealer gets $160 an hour for diagnostics.. Thanks XJ12 Saloon

Welcome.

That was a huge no-no, but you know that already.

Even a simple "flash" the wrong could do all sorts of electrical damage.

I suggest a quickie repost in the XJ40 section, where answers should be available.
