Default 96 XJ6 X300 locking problems the central locking stopped as well. Now you must open the drivers door and trunk with the key. Also, no security chirp when you do lock it up. The trunk lights do work and I now notice there is a red light on the door lock button next to the non-functional clock that is always on. I can't say that I have ever noticed it being on before.
Anybody seen this set of circumstances before? . From what I can find in the wiring those are the fuses that control this stuff. I checked the wiring on the right trunk hinge and it seems OK and the connection to the security control box by the fuel filler looks like it is tight. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any input!

Welcome again Richard,

I recall you first posting about this issue back in May so I've copied the question to a new thread in X300 forum. That is likely to attract more attention than adding it to a very old thread on the same topic. Here's the direct link to it:

Security Module problems are a real pain but I'm sure members with the same model will be able to help.

Graham
