Default 1998 XK8 convertible proper jacking

I want to change my transmission fluid in my garage. I have a floor jack and 4 jack stands. What is the preferred way to jack up the car, and place the jack stands under the car?
Thanks,
Dave S.

Hello, Dave,
When I want to jack my car, I put a custom cut square of heavy plywood (5 quarter) on my long floor jack and put it under the center of the IRS, and lift it about 18 inches and put jack stands under the back lift points.

Then I put a motorcycle jack under the front cross member, being CAREFUL TO MISS THE RACK, and jack the front until the car is level and put stands under the front lift points.

If the car isn't as high off the floor as I need I lift the back again, raising the jack stands, and then the front again, also raising the stands, and I keep this up until I have it high enough off the floor that I can crawl under comfortably on a creeper.

However, your car may require completely different procedures, which I'm sure members of our XK8 section can tell you all about. Someone will be along shortly to direct you there.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome.

Elinor has covered it.

As for your model specifics, I dont know.

I suggest a re-ask in the XK8/XKR (X100) section.

welcome to the forum -

I jack the front using the cross bar under the radiator and place jack stands under jacking points, then on the rear, look in the center and you will see a plate with 4 bolts dead center of the car, - I use this as the jacking point to raise the rear high enough to place jack stands under jacking points
