Default Supercharger, Engine, Transmission, ECU from XJR to a XJ8

Is it possible to add a 2002 XJR engine transmission ecu and supercharger and throttle body to a N/A XJ8 2001?

AND wiring harnesses, gearbox selector illumination module, mode switch, Intercooler pump and radiator, Engine oil cooler with pipes/hoses, Propshaft, etc.

I'll probably think of more differences after I post this.

Make sure you have a COMPLETE donor car because there will be little parts that you forgot about.

It is easier and usually cheaper to just sell the 8 and buy an R type.

There are a lot of differances between the two cars.

With enough time and money, anything is possible.

I have a 1982 VW Rabbit that now has a TurboDiesel, Automatic trans.
There was no such thing offered here in the US but I have a bunch of dead VW Jettas and old Rabbits so I made one.

If I had an Auto Salvage yard I would probably cut, weld and fabricate some strange cars 'cause I can!'

If you have the time/money then do it. It will not be cost effective unless you consider it a hobby and just want to do it.

Thanks!
I was actually inspired by this video, this man made a mini-series of him putting a x308 XJR engine into his '66 SType

he didn't just put the xjr drivetrain in there, he put xjr wheels and the entire interior, even shoehorning the back seats in...

Agreed...sell your XJ8 then buy an XJR. You'll be much happier unless you live for tinkering on projects...

I dont need to put xjr seats in my xj8. And I don't want to sell my xj8 as my uncle gave it to me before he passed away last year. He has had the car day 1.

I think the 1998 came with the AJ26 engine and the 2001 came with the AJ27. But have you put the ECU/ECM from the 01 to the 98?
Here's a detailed explanation between the AJ26 and the AJ27:- https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...inement-52292/

PCM is part of immo so you'll need all the other immo modules if you change it or else reprogram. Car will go into anti-theft otherwise and may need towing to be reprogrammed.

You cannot just install AJ27 ECM in AJ26 cars or vice-versa.
Just swap everything in the AJ27 engine to make it AJ26. The harnesses are different as are many electronic components.

The swap has been beaten to death over the years and there are VERY complete threads and posts about the successful swaps. I have done it myself.

Search for engine swaps in BOTH X100 and X308 sections as the engine are the SAME.

It is EASIER to make the ENGINE AJ26 than to make the CAR AJ27.
