Welcome to the forums Steve,
I presume that MoT is a typo for April 2020? If so, 10 months remaining is a big plus.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Consider carefully who is going to maintain and repair the vehicle. If you can/are willing to learn to DIY then a used Jaguar is great transport at modest cost. If you will have to rely on independent specialists, it can get very expensive.

Hello, Steve,
164,000 miles isn't too bad for a modern engine. As it's passed its last MOT you should not worry very much. With proper care and feeding you might get another 50 or 100K use out of it.
As for asking price, I'm not familiar with the exchange rate, but $1000 for Any running car in these parts isn't a bad price either.
