71 series 1 newbie
Good evening, i have recently purchased a 1971 Series 1 XJ6 and am in the researching/mindboggling process. before I continue can you tell me how to change my username?
Hello,
Congratulations on your Series 1 Jaguar!
I don't think you can change your username. I think you have to re-register to get another username.
However, someone in authority will be along shortly to say for sure.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums Ocala&bigpete71,
Good to have you with us.
Members cannot change a username. As you have just registered, the easiest solution is before posting in any other threads to register again with your preferred username and make another brief Intro. I'll then move replies here to your 'new' username Intro and delete this Ocala&bigpete71 thread.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-i-ii-iii-16/ to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ and https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to the US Northwest Region for to find other members in your regions.
Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham

Good evening Graham and my apologies for making this difficult. In this world of usernames and passwords we all get overwhelmed. I plan on spending some time here and trying to contribute so I want to get it right. I went back in to create a new account but my email is obviously already used so it did not allow me to do so. as much as I try to record everything my password is also wrong. Is it possible to delete me completely so i can start over? Again my apologies.....

Thank you all for the gracious welcome and my apologies for the difficult start. in this day and age where you are asked for sometimes complex log in info i made it just That!!
if the information does not transfer to a new user name I will just start here anyways with a full intro.
I have never been in or driven a Jaguar in my entire life, just admired their lines and looks from afar. Lately i wanted to pull the trigger on an XJS but watched the market and backed off. Thought about just buying a motor to rebuild as brain food as I am not a Soduko type person. I need to have my hands and mind busy. Them started to watch the older XJ6s of which there were not many out there which got me thinking. Quickly learned they seem to have self destructed but still questioning why if they are so rare in good form are they not more sought after. Regardless, one rainy weekend I found this 1971 XJ6,ironically pretty local . Advertised as having floor rot and a bit more I went to look at it but was not prepared for the interior to be in need of total replacement. I walked away, but that evening after a little research and negotiation both parts we struck a deal and the journey starts! That was a few months ago and I have been having a blast. Got it running as it had leaking fuel tanks and had been sitting for half a decade but I am game to save this beautiful car, and god willing i live long enough will do it right and with pride.
I look forward to getting to know you all!!
