Default Air conditioner 2006 Jaguar x-type 400

Hi hoping someone can help me. I have recently bought my first Jaguar, it’s a 2006 x-type 400. I have noticed something odd happening that I’ve not noticed in any other car. The air conditioning works and gets very cold, however when I stop at lights or to give way etc. the air conditioning feels like it cuts out and it starts blowing warm air like it’s just the fan going. As soon as I start driving again the air conditioner kicks in again. This happens every time. Is this supposed to happen with Jaguars or is something wrong? Any advice would be very much appreciated.
thank you

Welcome to the forums Sambill,

Good to have you with us.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. I recall this AC issue being mentioned only in relation to the X-Type and members with the same model will be able to help.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also use the Australia - South / NT Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...a-south-nt-95/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Sounds like the condenser fan which is also the radiator fan isn’t running so it’s not giving you Kool-Aid AC when you’re stopped because you don’t have any airflow through the condenser
