Hi fellows, I am a retired electrical engineer, my first Jaguar was a 2004 S type, totaled in a parking lot by somebody not looking. Replaced with a used 2005 XJ8L. In my opinion the S and XJ have a that "retro" look and classy style that attracted me to the Jaguar brand, beside the sporty pep, handling and comfort.

New to the forum dumb question
I see that the sub-forum are divided by model, still there are many XJ with various number between parenthesis. I assume they are loosely related to the year of manufacture.

How do I know which sub-forum my model belongs to?

Welcome to the forum Mauro,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar Forums.

As you've noticed, Jaguar used the 'XJ' designation for many different models. The forum tech sections are arranged by factory model references. Your 2005 XJ8 is factory ref X350.

Follow this link XJ ( X350 & X358 ) XJ6 / XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X350 forum for help, advice and information.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Southwest Region forum by following this link Southwest US - AZ TX NM OK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
