Default From CA to TX

Hello All,

My name is Alfredo. I moved to Houston, TX from the Bay Area in CA. (Job promotion and cost of living = Winning) Right before I got the promotion I had my third child and celebrated by buying an 89 XJ6 from a nice couple in Walnut Creek, CA. The car came with tons of service records and $1500 in work done just to get it ready for sale. The jag sat for 6 years after the 2nd owner, he bought it in 91 i believe, passed. I was lucky/crazy enought to purchase it and bring it with me to TX. I'm an E30 BMW guy myself but the price was right and the headlights were very familiar. Anyway I sold my E46, my 2 E30s and brought the Jag and 2011 Volvo XC90 with me. There is something about this car that has me excited.

Work done since I bought it:
Interior Lightbulb replacement
Glove Box latch repaired
Passenger kick panel bent back to shape
rear speakers replaced
fuel filter replaced
front left headlight replaced (PITA)
Hood and Trunk Struts replaced
Fixed Wheel bolt that holds Star in place
Drained rear driver side marker
Drained driver side door (still collects large amounts of water, will have to remove door panel to clear out debris)
Refilled mineral oil with orignal jaguar green bottle and attached filler hose

Needs:
Driver side brake sensor (tore of from plug)
Driver sear front leg support no longer moves, motor engages
Rear Driver Side ash tray chrome is missing
Recharge A/C or convert
Tires (spun out on a rainy day turning on a red light)

Here are some pics. It was garaged by previous owner but not by me. Will clear out garage to continue to preserve it.

Thanks for the confirmation. I've therefore made no edits to your original post #1.

I had the same colour combination XJ40. Here it is 21 years ago this month at Lake Coniston in the English Lake District.

Good to see another one looking so good many years later.

Thanks everyone. I look forward to posting some of the work I do on here.

LnrB I joined after ready your whole post on the blowout.

To be honest I currently have the car for sale but the more I think about it and the more research I do, I really dont think I'll ever come accross another one with such great mainteance history. I guess if I can fix the A/C there is no reason to get rid of it.

Alfredo,

The only place for posting adverts is PRIVATE For Sale / Trade or Buy Classifieds (https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/p...classifieds-9/) forum. You have sufficient length of membership and posts to use this.

Shame a to see it go. Good luck and I hope you get at or near your asking price.

Graham
