Hi everyone! I just joined the forum because I am now the proud owner of a black 2002 Jaguar XKR convertible.
I live in San Diego, California where we have good weather but it is the first time owning a convertible here.
It is my first Jaguar, but my brother has had many Jaguars back in the UK. He loves them.
I love mine now too, and hope it will remain that way, with a little help from my friends.

Jags are a little different from other cars, as your brother has no doubt told you, in that they possess the quality of Soul. That means they can tell if a person is Worthy of owing them. If the car Likes you, it will do its best to please you, but that can also mean it Trusts you to fix whatever is ailing it. Sometimes this can get quite involved depending how Negligent any previous Owners were with their maintenance. But any such efforts will be rewarded 100 times over with pure enjoyment of the drive.

Thanks everyone for making me welcome. I will check the Help page about adding car details to my handle on the forum.
My handle shows as Alan-2002XKR so I thought was enough to identify my car, but will check on it.

Welcome from another San Diego area Convertible XKR owner.

 

Glad to hear there is another XKR convertible in San Diego. I guess they did not sell in large numbers here but they are such a classy car (expensive) so I should think that most of them are survivors.
My car is in excellent condition and I feel it is worth the extra cost to maintain it properly.

 

I added a profile picture and am just doing a test post to see if it appears here.
Actually it is a small photo of my car. 2002 XKR convertible.
