Default Central Locking problem

Hi there everyone, just joined this group.
I have a 09 plate X-Type, which whilst driving a few days ago a message came up on the Dash Saying 'Security Failed' , I switched the ignition on and off and the message disappeared and hasn't come back, however the central locking no longer works if I use the key I can open the driver's door, start the car, but it doesn't unlock any of the other doors, they're deadlocked and can't even be unlocked from the inside. If I use the remote to unlock/lock the car then I get the flash of the indicators, but it doesn't unlock any door at all.
Trying to resolve the issue, so far I've disconnected the battery terminals for about an hour / recoded the fobs to the car but neither has made any difference.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be, my instincts say the driver's door latch is at fault, but surely the other doors would unlock, or are they reliant on a signal from the driver's door rather than the control module.

Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksChris

Hello, Chris,
I'm sorry your car has rebelled like that. If you haven't already found your way there, someone will be along shorty to direct you to the correct section where you can find help and advice for that.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
