Default Excited to be here as I begin my search!

Hi everyone!

I'm located in the Chicago area and have been a Jaguar fan since a little girl. Against my better judgement, head shakes from my husband, and a local maintenance man trying to push me towards other makes, I have been pouring through this forum for the past few months learning everything I can about the XK8/XKR (98's - 03's) as I begin my search. I love to see all of your beautiful cars, but really love reading all of the information and seeing how helpful everyone is in this community. Going into my search with the checklist of what issues to look for in each year has helped me feel much more informed with the couple I have test driven.

Again, just happy to be a lurker here while taking my time finding something that will hopefully keep me driving more than a few months out of the year!

Welcome to the forum Krider,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You have clearly already done your research so there's no need for a link to the XK8/XKR forum from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

You can also visit the US Midwest Region forum by following this link
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums and good luck finding "your" Jaguar.

Graham

Hello, Krider,
Yes, you could drive a beige Camry, or a white Chevy, but where's the fun in that??!
You would have to memorize your number plate to find your car in the lot at Safeway! You can ask me how I know that from when I drove a silver Ford Windstar van!

No, you're making the right choice, and I wish you success in your search.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks so much, ElinorB! I completely agree and your comment about trying to find your car in the sea of all the same is so true. The other day I tried to open the trunk of an exact replica of my Subaru that was parked in the same aisle So it's time for a little thrill!

When I am out with my XJR or S11 I just look for the gap in the roof lines

Krider,

Expand your horizons...….Try looking at 2004 thru 2006 XK8's and XKR's.....They are pretty interesting also!
Welcome to our World.....!
