Smile Finally got my Jag

The third one was the charm. The first two I looked at just had too many problems. What I got was a 2002 XK8 44k miles. Silver with black interior and top. This one is still a project needing AC charge, the steering wheel shakes at 70 mph, headrests don't move, and antenna doesn't retract all the way. I didn't notice the first two until the drive home. This isn't just a car it's a hobby.

Not only that, it's a way of life. And they mostly keep us so busy we don't have time to bet into trouble.

Welcome from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Old_Doc,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I must have lost a twist in the plot somewhere. What happened to the 2002 XKR with 52K miles you posted about in your https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-drive-124327/ thread?

No need for a link from me to the XK8/XKR tech forum as you have already been posting there.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

That's a longish story. I've been looking for a special car for several years. A couple weeks back I stopped by to visit with a sales person at a local dealership. As chance would have it they had just taken in a XKR in trade. Love at first sight. But I had to wait 6 days for them to complete the deal. I wanted to learn as much as I could about the car so I went on the web and discovered this forum. Thinking that the car was as good as mine I joined and began to post. I learned that that specific car had too many expensive problems. I had to turn it down. I kept looking and a few days ago found the XK8. I it was in better condition at the same price, lower miles, and 3ed gen tensioners. It now lives in my garage.
